The 1st Post

Diana: This is it, the first post. I said I'd start a blog...the expectations are building..what should I write? I'm sure you are all wondering about our travels to Guyana, what we think so far, etc. Oops, baby, or should I say toddler, wants to climb up those stairs. The stairs look like an an exciting adventure...I know, this is only the beginning of the many adventures the little fire will have!

I've been hesitant to start a blog. Although I love the idea of sharing ideas and the openness of the internet, I'm conflicted about having "my" ideas out there, not to mention our photos. Plus, with an almost one year old, when to find the time??  ...but the idea is there, the intention, the earnestness. Everyone expressed their desire for us to start one now that we'll be living overseas again...yes, to be sure, once we start it, it is an easy way to keep our important friends and family up-to-date on our adventures...so my time to be earnest in writing a blog is NOW.

Guyana: We arrived on June 6 at around 7:30 am from NYC. A pleasant flight, one of Delta's first to Guyana. Our sponsor and a car were waiting for us. Maggie, our beloved border collie, was fine and happy to see us after being in the cargo. We were tired, but excited to see our new home. It's quite nice, and much bigger than our little townhouse in Alexandria. We'll post photos soon.

First impressions: Caribbean... yes, we're in South America, but Guyana is considered Caribbean, and it definitely feels that way. The accent reminds me of being in Jamaica...more to come.
